\u00d6z<\/strong>:\u00a0<\/span>Burdur ili G\u00f6lhisar il\u00e7esi s\u0131n\u0131rlar\u0131 i\u00e7inde bulunan Kibyra antik kentinde s\u00fcrmekte olan kaz\u0131larda, nekropolis alan\u0131 \u00e7evresi ve mezar odalar\u0131nda yeni bir buluntu gurubu a\u00e7\u0131\u011fa \u00e7\u0131km\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Ka\u00e7ak kaz\u0131larla kar\u0131\u015ft\u0131r\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olan kontekstlerde kafataslar\u0131 \u00fczerinde veya g\u00f6z \u00e7ukurlar\u0131 i\u00e7inde bulunmam\u0131\u015f olmalar\u0131na ra\u011fmen, iskeletler ve \u00f6l\u00fc yataklar\u0131 yak\u0131nlar\u0131nda bulunan oval formlu bu ilk buluntular \u201cg\u00f6z apli\u011fi<\/em>\u201d olarak tan\u0131mlanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u00c7al\u0131\u015fmalar s\u00fcrd\u00fck\u00e7e, apliklerin kare formlu tiplerinin de bulundu\u011fu, \u00e7ok canl\u0131 renklerle boyanm\u0131\u015f olduklar\u0131 anla\u015f\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. \u0130\u015flevleriyle ilgili kesin bir kan\u0131ya varmak i\u00e7in yap\u0131lan k\u00f6ken ve benzer ara\u015ft\u0131rmalar\u0131 s\u0131ras\u0131nda, \u00f6l\u00fc g\u00f6mme t\u00f6renlerinde cesedin g\u00f6zlerine objeler koyma gelene\u011finin M\u00d6 VI. bine dek indi\u011fi g\u00f6r\u00fclmektedir. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada, MS II. y\u00fczy\u0131lda kullan\u0131m g\u00f6rm\u00fc\u015f olan Kibyra mezarlar\u0131nda bulunan ve \u201cg\u00f6z apli\u011fi<\/em>\u201d olarak tan\u0131mlanan pi\u015fmi\u015f toprak aplikler yan\u0131nda fig\u00fcrl\u00fc pi\u015fmi\u015f toprak veya metal \u00f6rnekle\u00adrin de kullan\u0131lm\u0131\u015f olabilece\u011fi d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcncesiyle d\u00fczenlenen katalog ile de ard\u0131l \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalara katk\u0131 sa\u011flamak ama\u00e7lanm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.<\/p>\n

Abstract:\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>In excavations at the ancient city of Kibyra, which is situated in the G\u00f6lhisar township of Burdur province, new finds have been made in the burial chambers and within the necropolis context. Although the strata and contexts are mixed due to illegal excavations, and even though they have not been found located on the eye sockets or around the skulls, these initial oval-shaped finds,recovered near to the skeletons or to the kline, the bed for the deceased, are described as \u201ceye-appliques\u201d<\/em>. As work continues, it is now understood that there are also, in addition to those of oval shape, a square-shaped type, and that these examples are painted in very bright colours. During the studies conducted to determine the origin and function of this type of find and the related material it was found that the tradition of placing objects on the eyes of the deceased dates back to the 6th <\/sup>millennium. The aim of this study is to contribute to future work on thissubject through providing a catalogue, with the idea that, in addition to the terracotta finds defined as \u201ceye appliques\u201d<\/em>, figurative terracotta or metal examples were also em\u00adployed for the same purpose within the IInd <\/sup>century A.D. Kibyra necropolis.<\/p>\n
