Ya\u015fam bah\u015fetme \u00f6zellikleri ile su kayna\u011f\u0131 olan nehirler b\u00fcy\u00fck \u00f6nem ta\u015f\u0131maktad\u0131r. Bu ba\u011flamda Parion\u2019da: Hermotos ve Rhesos olmak \u00fczere iki nehir bilinmektedir. Bu iki nehir Parionlulara i\u00e7ecek su ve yiyecek bal\u0131k yan\u0131 s\u0131ra verimli tar\u0131m arazilerinin (sulama kanallar\u0131 ile yapay olarak veya do\u011fal \u015fekillerde) olu\u015fmas\u0131n\u0131 sa\u011flayarak Parion\u2019da ya\u015fam\u0131 do\u011frudan etkilemi\u015f ve m\u00fcmk\u00fcn k\u0131lm\u0131\u015flard\u0131r. Bu makalenin amac\u0131 kentin su kayna\u011f\u0131 olarak nehirleri antik ve modern kaynaklarda Parion ve antik d\u00fcnya kapsam\u0131nda sunulan tarihi co\u011frafya ve hidrografi bilgileri \u0131\u015f\u0131\u011f\u0131nda nehirleri tekrar saptamak ve tan\u0131mlamakt\u0131r.<\/p>\n

Abstract:\u00a0<\/strong>Parion, a colony founded on the Asiatic shore of the Propontis in the Troas Region, similar to most colony cities was founded on a cape overlooking trade routes and adjacent to a fertile hinterland and a water source. The water sources, the vitalizing rivers are of the utmost importance. Two rivers are known in Parion: the Hermotos and Rhesos. These two rivers which by granting the Parianoi water to drink and fish to eat along with providing fertile agricultural lands (through feeding the plains either by irrigation channels or in a natural manner) have directly effected and ensured life in Parion. This paper aims to re-establish the ancient knowledge regarding rivers as the source of the water required by the city by referring to ancient geographical and hydrographical information provided by ancient and modern sources for Parion as well as the ancient world.<\/p>\n
