Abstract: <\/strong>Sea piracy activities in the ancient history emerged and developed with the increasing international maritime trade. Piracy in the Black Sea also increased during the Great Colonization Period (750-550 B.C.), when commerce gained significant momentum between communities, and this situation affected the region’s economic and political activity. However, piracy activities in the Black Sea were never as active as piracy in the Mediterranean waters.
\nModern literature has few ancient historical studies conducted on piracy activities in the Black Sea waters. These works have usually focused on the Classical and Hellenistic period Black Sea pirates and their actions. The present study first discusses the factors pushing the emergence and development of piracy activity in the Black Sea coastlines and evaluates various pirate communities in this area. Then, from the perspectives of the Classical, Hellenistic, and Roman periods, piracy in the Black Sea and the relations of the pirates with the surrounding states are evaluated. Finally, the study focuses on how the powers that want to establish political dominance in the Black Sea benefited from the piracy activities in the Black Sea.<\/p>\n

\u00d6z: <\/strong>Deniz ticareti ve bu ticaretin uluslararas\u0131 alanda b\u00fcy\u00fcmesi denizlerde korsanl\u0131k faaliyetlerinin ortaya \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131 ve geli\u015fmesindeki ba\u015fat unsur olmu\u015ftur. Karadeniz\u2019deki korsanl\u0131k faaliyetleri de ticaretin \u00f6nemli bir ivme yakalad\u0131\u011f\u0131 B\u00fcy\u00fck Kolonizasyon D\u00f6nemi\u2019nde (M\u00d6 750-550) art\u0131\u015f g\u00f6stermi\u015f ve bu durum b\u00f6lgedeki ekonomik ve siyasi hareketlili\u011fi etkilemi\u015ftir. Ancak Karadeniz\u2019deki korsanl\u0131k faaliyetleri hi\u00e7bir zaman Akde\u00adniz\u2019deki korsan eylemleri kadar etkili olmam\u0131\u015ft\u0131r.
\nModern literat\u00fcrde antik\u00e7a\u011fda Karadeniz\u2019de korsanl\u0131kla ilgili olduk\u00e7a s\u0131n\u0131rl\u0131 say\u0131da \u00e7al\u0131\u015fma bulunmaktad\u0131r. Bunlar da genel olarak Klasik ve Hellenistik d\u00f6nemlerde Karadeniz\u2019de korsanl\u0131kla ilgilenen halklar ve onlar\u0131n eylemleri \u00fczerine yo\u011funla\u015fmaktad\u0131r. Bu \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmada ise ilk olarak Karadeniz\u2019de korsanl\u0131\u011f\u0131n ortaya \u00e7\u0131kmas\u0131 ve geli\u015fmesine etki eden fakt\u00f6rler ele al\u0131nacakt\u0131r. Ard\u0131ndan Karadeniz\u2019de korsanl\u0131kla ilgilenen halklar ve bu halklar\u0131 korsanl\u0131\u011fa iten nedenler tart\u0131\u015f\u0131lacakt\u0131r. Daha sonra Klasik, Hellenistik ve Roma d\u00f6nemlerinde Karadeniz\u2019de korsanl\u0131\u011fa bak\u0131\u015f a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131 ve korsanl\u0131k faaliyetlerinde bulunan halklar\u0131n \u00e7evre devletlerle olan ili\u015fkileri de\u011ferlen\u00addirilecektir. Son olarak da Karadeniz\u2019de siyasi h\u00e2kimiyet kurmak isteyen g\u00fc\u00e7lerin Karadeniz\u2019deki korsanl\u0131k faaliyetlerinden ne \u015fekilde yararland\u0131klar\u0131 \u00fczerinde durulacakt\u0131r.<\/p>\n
